Getting Around In Old Age

Whilst some are fortunate in their later years to be relatively mobile, or even in rare cases to compete in sports, the reality is that this is not the case for most of us who will find, as time goes on, that getting around can be much more difficult than it used to be.

Whilst a quick visit to the neighbour for a cup of tea may be possible without much aid; for those longer trips to the shops for example, a little help can make a massive difference, especially if shopping needs to be carried.

Increased Mobility

Suitable for some disabilities as well as for older people, Quingo Mobility Scooters are an excellent answer to the problems of getting around with limited mobility. Designed for comfort and ease of use, they are both sturdy and easy to control; important factors for those with limited mobility in their upper body. With storage space available, they are ideal also for popping in those items of shopping that you need.

One concern for those whose mobility is limited is how stable any scooter that they wish to purchase will be. This is a concern that Quingo Mobility Scooters have taken seriously and have designed their scooters to be stable at all speeds as well as having the ability to handle bumps in the roads and pavements without any problem.

Kerbs and Slopes

A major problem for many mobility scooters are kerbs. Whilst these are necessary for the public at large for the most part, they do present a significant obstacle for mobility scooter users. Designed to handle kerbs of up to four inches and allowing the user to approach them from a 45 degree angle, these scooters are one of the best on the market to address this problem. The anti-tipping capabilities also help to ease any fears that the user may have of being unceremoniously tipped onto the road, putting them in danger.

The problem of slopes too is overcome by designing the scooters to handle slopes up to twelve degrees which should be sufficient for most entrances to supermarkets or other premises which the user may wish to enter.

Comfort

Whilst users would quite naturally wish that they were able to walk around, Quingo have made sure that using one of their mobility scooters is not just something that people feel obliged to out of necessity, but that it is also a comfortable and enjoyable experience. As well as comfortable adjusting seating, a must for the user, its footplates are designed to float and prevent that uncomfortable jarring sensation on the feet when the scooters goes over a bump. Absorbing the shock on these occasions means that the user will barely notice these minor obstacles in their path.

People and Technology

Although some of the features of this scooter offer the latest in design technology; at the heart of the design of these scooters are the people who will be using them. By working closely with organisations such as Age UK Quingo have ensured that any features which their engineers may not initially have considered being important, but which are key to those with limited mobility, will be addressed by these organisations and passed back to the engineers who will then incorporate this into the design of the scooter.
